4 weeks FREE storage
All new customers will enjoy 4 weeks FREE storage on any rooms you may need at Storagebase.
There is no minimum time. If you move in and out within 4 weeks your storage is FREE.
You will not need to pay up front for any storage when you move in.
Stay as long as you want: For example if you store for 10 weeks the 4 weeks free is the same as a discount of 40% off the standard weekly rate for your room over the time you use it.
You can also use a larger room or more than 1 room in the free period and carry on with a smaller room after your first 4 weeks. This can be useful if you need to have extra space at no cost to sort things out initially.
Any catches? - In a word: NO. NO commitment to stay for more than 4 weeks, NO obligation to pay a deposit and NO obligation to subscribe to other services from us.
You must sign a direct debit authority to cover any future payments should you continue using your room beyond 4 weeks. You must also provide credit or debit card details as a backup in the event of a problem with the direct debit.
You will only be charged for any storage room you are still using at the start of your 5th week. Move out in your 1st 4 weeks and pay nothing for storage. You must give us at least 7 days written notice (e-mail is OK) of the date when you will move out.
All property in store must be insured. You can either provide proof of insurance if you already have cover - in which case you will have nothing to pay. Otherwise our insurance will be 75p per £1000 cover per week. This is not part of the 4 week FREE offer.
The offer is available for 4 weeks from when you start using our services. If you start using a second room 3 weeks after you move into your first room that room will be free for 1 week - i.e. Up to the date 4 weeks after you started.
If you fail to pay future bills on time you will be required to repay the value of the first 4 weeks you were given for free.
20% OFF ... gives you up to 20 weeks FREE.
If you need storage for 6 months or more we can offer you 20% off your first 6,12,18 or 24 months if you prepay giving you the equivalent of up to 20 weeks FREE.
If you prepay for an extended period and need to move out of storage sooner than expected you will just be charged for the days you have used at the non discounted rate and everything else you have paid will be refunded to you.
This offer is an alternative to our 4 weeks free offer and represents a bigger saving if you need to store for more than 6 months. You can of course opt for our 4 week free offer and stay as long as you like.
Prepayment Discounts
Prepay for an extended period and save money on each and every period that you prepay.
Our prepayment discounts apply after your initial 4 week free or 20% off period. You can of course opt for a non discounted 4 weekly billing period and stay as long as you wish.
- 5% off storage when you prepay 6 months
- 10% off storage when you prepay 12 months
You won't lose out if you prepay and then move out sooner than expected.
Because our agreements are flexible if you prepay but need to move out earlier than expected when you have paid a long time ahead we will simply charge the time you used without the prepayment discount and refund any balance due to you under the terms of your storage agreement.
This means that you only end up paying for the days you actually use. All refunds are calculated to the nearest day - we don't round your charges up to the nearest week or month.
You can change the amount of time you pay for in one go if your needs change.
NO price increases
Some companies will entice you with a 'teaser' rate only to change it a few months after you move in.
We guarantee that your rate for your room will not change within 12 months of moving into your room. In many cases rates can remain unchanged for considerably longer.
In an inflationary environment you can be sure that you will not be commiting to one deal only to be changed to a different one after a few months.
If you wish to make a long term commitment to store with us we will be happy to match your commitment with a commitment to you on the rates that will apply over the life of your contract with us - whether that is 2 years, 10 years or more. Please ask for a quote. You can of course store for as long as you like without ever making any long term commitment ... under our standard terms all customers can move out with just 7 days notice.
Remember that our rates include the costs of business rates, utility bills, maintenance, on site staff and more so you are guaranteed not to be affected by any changes in these underlying costs for 12 months.
Get paid with our referral program
If you refer someone to us who spends over £50 on storage we will pay you £25.
We ask everyone how they found out about us so be sure to ask your friend or colleague to mention your name. You can of course contact us to tell us that you have referred someone to us or to ask us to send someone information.
You can receive as many referral credits as you like.
You do not need to be using one of our storage rooms to benefit from referral credits.
If the person has already contacted us after seeing an advertisement then unfortunately no credit will be available for that referral.
No Deposit
Unlike some of our competitors we will not require you to tie up spare cash in a security deposit if you pay for your storage with a credit or debit card or by direct debit.
Free Lock for your room
You can use your own padlock to secure your room if you wish but we will provide you with a high security lock free of charge if you pay by debit card or direct debit. Only you will hold the key to your room so it is private to you only. We do not keep a copy. Some companies will make you buy a new lock ... you wouldn't stay at a hotel that charged each new guest for a new room lock so why should your storage room be any different?
Refunds
It is unlikely you will need to store for just the time you pay for. In most cases you will need to move out part way through a period of time you have paid for.
We will refund the value of any days you have paid for but not used under the terms of your storage agreement.
This means that you only end up paying for the days you actually use so if you pay for 12 weeks and move out after 10 weeks we will refund you the 2 unused weeks.
All refunds are calculated to the nearest day - we don't round your charges up to the nearest week or month.
We will send your refund to you by cheque usually within 7 days but always within 2 weeks.
Save on VAT
If you are a business customer and VAT registered you can recover the VAT on our charges which is not the case with most storage companies. Make sure you check that you have been quoted rates exclusive of VAT for your storage when comparing our service with other companies.
